Left’s Post-Election Antics Prove ‘Saving Democracy’ Was Bullshit
When Democrats lost the election, their high-minded principles evaporated faster than their support for Biden after he died on the debate stage.
It was supposed to be the last election of our lifetimes, they said. Stopping Donald Trump wasn’t just a matter of political preference, it was an issue of life or death. But the shameful behavior by Democrats following the blowout 2024 election has proven that existential threat rhetoric was all hot air.
I almost feel bad for the Democratic staffers who bought into the “end of Democracy” narrative.
A telling article from one leftist rag noted a sense of betrayal after both Kamala Harris and Joe Biden acknowledged that Trump had won the election and that they were going to help install him.
“Earlier today, I spoke with President-elect Trump and congratulated him on his victory,” Harris told a gathered crowd of supporters the day after the election. “I also told him that we will help him and his team with their transition and that we will engage in a peaceful transfer of power.”
Damn, I’d have whiplash too! We’d been told for years that Hitler, er… Trump, would murder black people, install fascism, and destroy the country. How could Harris et al. just turn around and say “Well shucks, guess we’ll get them next time!” and not expect a total mental break?
That break has come in the form of leftist conspiracy mongering and blatantly illegal activities. Let’s begin with the former.
Though the left repeatedly derided MAGA’s stolen election claims back in 2020, they were more than happy to embrace their own form of election denial following their well-deserved electoral ass-whooping. Posts on new liberal cesspit BlueSky and social media sites like Reddit are almost a mirror image of the claims made by some Republicans four years ago and make 2016’s Russiagate claims look tame by comparison.
A cursory glance at election denial subreddit SomethingIsWrong2024 reveals a smorgasbord of utterly insane takes. Users claim that Elon Musk hacked election machines with Starlink satellites or that Ivanka Trump has stock in the voting machine companies and rigged their machines to help her dad win. Others say that Trump had Xi Jinping and/or Putin hack the voting machines or that dead people were voting in swing states.
Is this not a threat to our democracy??? I was assured by experts that “by all measures, the 2020 general election was one of the most secure elections in our history” and that by questioning whether that was true was tantamount to treason. Indeed, it was Trump’s refusal to admit he lost the election that Democrats and their media allies used to argue Trump should be disqualified from gaining power again.
Suddenly now that the shoe is on the other foot, it’s all good to question the integrity of the election Funny how that works out. Combined with the steps taken by Democratic operatives, it seems less like the left is less concerned with protecting American democracy than simply denying Trump power.
In a blatant attempt to eke out a win for Senator Bob Casey (D-PA), Democratic-majority election boards in Montgomery County, Philadelphia and Bucks County all voted to count inadmissible ballots ignoring a prior ruling by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
“People violate laws anytime they want. So, for me, if I violate this law, it’s because I want a court to pay attention,” Bucks County Commissioner Diane Ellis-Marseglia whined. There’s nothing more important than counting votes.”
Though Ellis-Marseglia has since tried to walk the statement back, the fact that they did publicly vote to ignore the Supreme Court’s ruling and count the ineligible ballots speaks volumes.
This post-election hypocrisy should put to bed the inane “defenders of democracy” façade Democrats have bandied about for years. When they lost the election, their high-minded principles evaporated faster than their support for Biden after he died on the debate stage.
As Democrats refuse to accept their loss with conspiracy theories and blatant lawbreaking, the American people should take note. People hate a sore loser, but they hate a hypocrite even more.
