Kamala Will Not Be Democrats’ Salvation
Harris represents a continuation of the same failed Biden administration policies that turned voters off the President in the first place. Thus, she will lose.
Biden is out; the pressures against him from leading Democrats like Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama having taken their toll. As he dropped out, Biden endorsed his VP Kamala Harris to succeed him, likely in an attempt to halt Democratic infighting that had been plaguing the party.
“My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made,” Biden tweeted, “Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year.”
While I was wrong that Biden would not step down, I can confidently say that swapping the geriatric for the Wicked Witch of the West Coast will not significantly increase the Democrats’ chances at winning.
Democrats are currently pretending that by swapping Biden for Harris, all of the issues voters had with the party have magically vanished. True, Harris is significantly younger than both Biden and Trump, cutting claims about age from the political arsenal.
But age was just one of a plethora of criticisms surrounding Biden, one that really only took off following his disastrous debate performance last month.
Inflation is still obliterating the average American’s wallet, there’s American hostages rotting in terrorist-controlled Gaza, and the border is wide open to both cartels and Chinese nationals who want an easy route to American citizenship.
The shit had hit the fan way before Democrats and their media allies finally opened their eyes to the Weekend at Bernie’s situation in the White House.
That last issue is particularly potent for Harris, who was crowned Border Czar and then proceeded to do nothing about the invasion from the South. It took the VP three months after to visit the border, a visit that clearly did nothing as border crossings are at an all time high.
Harris represents a continuation of the same failed Biden administration policies that turned voters off the President in the first place. Democrats believe they can fool Americans into connecting the past four years of failure to Biden and his age, therefore freeing Harris to win 2028.
This is undoubtedly false. It’s so blatantly false that alternatives to Harris like Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer and California governor Gavin Newsom are holding their powder to run from a much stronger position in 2028.
Following Biden’s decision to endorse Harris, the other Democrats quickly fell in line. Whitmer announced that she would be serving as a co-chair of Harris’ campaign, removing her from contention as a presidential pick. Newsom endorsed Harris tweeting that she was “Tough. Fearless. Tenacious” and that “ no one is better to prosecute the case against Donald Trump's dark vision and guide our country in a healthier direction than America’s Vice President.”
They, much like the rest of America, recognize that Harris has no chance of beating Trump and have decided to let her be the sacrificial lamb. Why irrevocably tie yourself to a dying beast when the grass looks so much greener 4 years from now? The math was identical when Biden was still the candidate, thus no one with presidential ambition would prematurely cripple themselves for a miniscule chance at victory.
Besides, Harris has a horrific track record when it comes to presidential politics. She dropped out of the 2020 race months before primary voting began when it became clear she would be obliterated even in her home state. She never recovered from an orbital assault on her character by Tulsi Gabbard during the 2020 Democratic debates. Harris flip-flopped endlessly on policy, and pathetically tried to pull back damning indictments that her future boss Joe Biden was a vicious racist.
Harris is also wildly unlikeable. Consider all the clips you’ve seen of her cackling at weird times, the bizarre neologisms and phrases she regularly deploys. I might not have fallen out the coconut tree, but I am well aware that Harris will need to be unburdened by what has been if she has any chance at winning the presidency.
Harris gave strong “chillin’ in Cedar Rapids” vibes when she went on Charlamagne tha God’s Breakfast Club and claimed she listened to Tupac and smoked weed, a claim so odious her own father came out and said she was full of it.
That charisma vacuum will be a real issue, especially when she’s up against Donald Trump who seemingly stumbles into moments of magnetism by accident.
Almost assassinated? How about the most iconic photo of the last decade? This is Trump’s race to lose and Harris is not up to the task of defeating him. Frankly, no Democrat is.
The polls show this, Democrats know this, and Harris will blow this.
