Desperate Dems Cry Wolf as Trump Looks Primed to Cinch Election
When the general sentiment among voters is that Trump performs better on those issues, the only strategy Harris and her allies can think of is to pull out the old standbys. Voters aren’t buying it.
It’s 10 days until the 2024 election and the Democrats are in full blown panic mode. A series of almost comically engineered stories have made their way into the press in recent days as the Harris camp scrambles to shore up undecided voters.
The first concerns more than two-decade-old allegations of groping from former Sports Illustrated model Stacey Williams. She said that Trump felt up her breasts, hips and butt while disgraced financier Jeffery Epstein smiled on in the background.
We’ve seen this song and dance before. Democrats frequently and cynically weaponize sexual misconduct claims to try and torpedo their political opposition, waiting for just the right moment to drop often ancient allegations. Clarence Thomas and Anita Hill, Brett Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford, and now this. 10 days before an election seems like an awfully convenient time to reveal that Trump engaged in sexual foul play. Almost seems like it’s a horribly unsubtle attempt to create an October surprise.
Democrats might also want to think twice about throwing around accusations of untoward behavior towards women, given Harris’ husband Doug Emhoff is facing allegations of domestic violence towards a former girlfriend. Glass houses and all that.
My gut tells me that this story is going to be really heavily pushed by the mainstream press but will impact a grand total of zero votes. Anyone who buys this story has already long made up their mind to vote against Trump, and those who recognize the attempted smear going on are already on Trump’s side. The fact that Democrats are trotting out the sexual assault allegation out of their bag of tricks shows they’re getting desperate.
But the second story is what really cements how the Harris camp is scraping the bottom of the barrel to stop Trump.
In a glaring example of how Democrats need to get another schtick, fetid corpse and 2016 loser Hillary Clinton rose from the political grave to call Trump a Nazi. During a CNN hit with Kaitlan Collins, Clinton accused Trump of reenacting the 1939 Madison Square Garden Nazi rally. Trump is set to speak at the massive venue on Sunday, a locale that also hosted a large gathering of American Nazis prior to American entry into WWII.
"President Franklin Roosevelt was appalled that neo-Nazis, fascists in America were lining up to essentially pledge their support for the kind of government that they were seeing in Germany. So I don't think we can ignore it,” Clinton told Collins.
Clinton appears to be living in a glass house like her Democratic colleagues as she herself attended her husband’s DNC nomination for President at Madison Square Garden in 1992.
Apparently it’s only a Nazi rally if the person leading it has an R next to their name. Massive political rallies for Democrats appear to be immune to the Hitler comparisons. Funny how that works.
Clinton isn’t particularly unique in her jump to paint the Republican opposition as Nazis. Anytime a member of the GOP becomes a threat, Democrats leap to the Nazi attack painting them as a unique fascistic threat to American democracy.
In 2012, the Romney campaign had to tell Democrats to cool it with the Nazi references after California Democratic party chairman John Burton repeatedly compared then VP candidate Paul Ryan and the GOP as a whole to Nazi propaganda chief Joseph Goebbels at the DNC. South Carolina Democratic Party Chairman Dick Harpootlian later likened Nikki Haley to Hitler’s wife Eva Braun down in the bunker.
Before that, John McCain was lampooned as a Nazi by Democrat aligned elites including Madonna, who still enjoys the support of various Dem politicians. And before that, George W. Bush and his VP Dick Cheney were painted as the ultimate symbol of American fascism. That is, of course, before Cheney earned strange new respect for endorsing Kamala Harris.
Fast forward to 2024 and wow, here we go again with the Nazi comparisons. This show sucked the first million times I saw it.
The story buried here is that Democrats feel they have no other choice but to resort to character assassination to win the election. The southern border is wide open, the economy is in shambles, and war with our major enemies looms on the horizon. When the general sentiment among voters is that Trump performs better on those issues, the only strategy Harris and her allies can think of is to pull out the old standbys. Voters aren’t buying it.
While Democrats flail around trying to rehash the past, Trump’s chances at victory haven’t been this high since Biden was still running. I’d say Harris had best start working on that concession speech.
But maybe leave the Nazi references out of it.
